Saint Paraskevi
On the way to the Sanctuary of the Muses we can make a stop at the church of Saint Paraskevi which is built on the eastern slope of the Koursara hill. The view towards the valley of the Muses is unique from this point.
We don't know when this church was built but from the arch of the central entrance it seems to be of the Byzantine period and definitely existed during the second Ottoman period. It is in the basilica style with a dome, decorated with magnificent paintings in successive layers that reveal its age. From the coatings it is not possible to identify any materials used in ancient temples.
On its feast day, when many people gather on July 26th, pilgrims can enjoy the cool water of the natural spring, which has recently been renovated.
